Light Cubes is a stage made of light: a sliced cube of light stands on a wet, hazy floor, with walls of light on its faces, glowing edges, a beam rising from its lid, lasers and corner beams.
1:1
The loop above is a silent 13-second excerpt of a 1080p Studio export. In the Studio, where this scene is called Lichtquader, it moves to your own track.
How it reacts to your music
- The arc of the track sets the show: in calm parts the walls stay dim and the lasers off; in a build-up, rising hi-hats and snares open the corner beams and widen the haze; the first kick after that starts the drop, with full walls, lasers, strobes and hard camera cuts.
- Kicks each send a pulse up the beam; in a drop every fourth beat fires a strobe.
- Bass expands the cube, pushes its walls of light further out, makes the edges glow and the beam longer and brighter.
- Four pools of light on the floor, one per side, follow bass, mids, snare and hi-hats.
- The highs make the beam shimmer and the lasers brighter.
Music that suits it
Electronic music with a clear arc of intro, build-up and drop: house, techno, EDM, dubstep or drum and bass. A steady four-on-the-floor kick pulses the beam regularly, and every 32 beats in a drop the palette and laser pattern change. Ambient music without a kick keeps the stage calm.
What it does on its own
After about six seconds of quiet the stage returns to calm. In the Studio a control can also hold it in one phase.
